Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin his election campaign with big rallies in Meerut, Jammu, and Rudrapur on Thursday.
Dear friends,— Chowkidar Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) March 28, 2019
Over the next few days, I would be travelling across the country seeking your support for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Today, I would be addressing rallies in Meerut (UP), Rudrapur (Uttarakhand) and Jammu (J&K).
Watch the rallies live on the NaMo App.
“Five years ago, Modiji had addressed his first election meeting in the state and the BJP won 71 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh by reducing the opposition to political insignificance. This time too, the party will repeat the same success story to cut the mahagathbandhan to size,” said Gajendra Sharma, in-charge of party’s media cell in Meerut.
The first rally will be held in an open field at Daurala village of Meerut district, which falls under the Muzaffarnagar Lok Sabha constituency. BJP candidates for Muzaffarnagar and seven nearby Lok Sabha constituencies — Saharanpur, Meerut, Kairana, Bijnor, Baghpat, Bulandshahr and Ghaziabad — are expected to attend, as are their constituents.
Ahead of the PM’s election rally, BJP chief, Amit Shah along with other senior leaders of the party will camp in in Meerut Tuesday. Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath is also expected to join Shah Tuesday.
The BJP has fielded its sitting MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, who was elected in 2014 with a margin of 2.26 lakh votes, from the Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat.
PM Modi will be in Rudrapur for a 60 minutes rally in support of BJP candidate Ajay Bhatt from Nainital seat for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. During this time, he will address thousands of people arriving from UP adjacent to Udham Singh Nagar along with Kumaon and Garhwal.
