Haryanvi artist and popular stage performer Sapna Choudhary joined the Congress on Saturday. She met Congress General Secretary Jyotiraditya Scindia before joining the party.

Sapna joined the Congress at the home of party's Uttar Pradesh unit chief Raj Babbar in New Delhi, sources said.

Earlier it was expected that Congress was planning to field the famous stage performer against the BJP leader Hema Malini contending the Mathura seat in Uttar Pradesh. But as per the latest reports it is expected that Congress may give her a ticket to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Haryana.

The Congress has already announced candidates for 146 Lok Sabha constituencies. Sources in the Congress said she is the perfect candidate for the prestigious seat and can give a tough contest to opponents.

Sapna, who rose to fame with her “aakhya ka yo kaajal” song, had also participated in Big Boss 11 in 2017.
