With women's safety in the nation's top priority, Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi on Saturday decided to test the safety of women in the union territory going incognito in the city.

The Lt. Governor, after her expedition through the city, found the city to be 'safe' for women.

Kiran Bedi had tweeted, "From a midnight Incognito #Suraksha Round to the 6AM weekend #Swachh Round."

The city check was done by Kiran Bedi as she disguised into a commoner and rode on a two-wheeler across the city to personally ensure how secure the roads were for women at night.

She also posted a clip of Night Round.

Bedi said that she would suggest some measures to the police needed to enhance the security environment.

The expedition assessed that the roads need more police presence and mobility in order to prevent crime and improve police response.

The former cop and BJP's Chief Ministerial candidate in 2015, said: “Found Puducherry reasonably safe at night. But it will be improved.” She was also one of the first persons to react to the recent Chandigarh stalking case.
