A Kerala based woman, who was allegedly being molested by one of her neighbours, bit off his tongue when he was trying to forcibly kiss her, said the police.
A 30-year-old woman belonging to Kerala has filed a case against one of her neighbours, saying that she had bit off his tongue when the man was allegedly trying to molest her. The woman has also produced a piece of tongue in the police station.
According to the police, the man was booked under the section 447 (criminal trespass), 354 (assault with the intention to outrage the modesty of a woman) and 367 (attempt to rape) of the IPC (Indian Penal Code).
The accused man also had similar charged against him in the past, he was remanded in judicial custody for a week.
The woman had told the police that she was jumped by the assaulter when she stepped out of her house Monday night.
As soon as the woman registered her complaint, the police alerted all the local hospitals and found the accused going through surgery for her severed tongue. He was arrested immediately after he was discharged by the hospital post surgery.
He had told the hospital that he injured his tongue in a bike accident. The hospital staff told the police that he had received serious injuries and most likely have slightly impaired speech.
Another high-profile case had sparked from the southern state in recent past. A 23-year-old had allegedly cut the genitals of a 52-year-old man after he made sexual advances on her. However, the girl later said that the police had forced her to make the statement.
