Six terrorists who belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba were killed by the security forces during a fierce encounter in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district on Friday.

According to the reports, the operation was jointly launched by the army, Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF in Sekipora village in Bijbehara, around 50 kms from Srinagar.
The team began a cordon and search operation on the basis of a tip about the presence of terrorists in the area.
Arms and ammunition have been recovered from the site of encounter. The internet services have been suspended in the area by authorities.
One of the terrorist who has been killed is Azad Malik killer of Pakistani Journalist Shujaat Bukhari.
The Valley has been witnessing a spurt in terror activities from past few months. Three days ago, four terrorists were shot dead in a fierce encounter at a village in Shopian district. A soldier was also killed in the gun battle.
