The ‘mahagathbandhan’ (Grand Alliance) of the opposition has been on the brink of falling apart ever since the CBI raided the residence of RJD Chief and his family, including Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav.

Although Lalu Prasad Yadav has been celebrating rectified relations with JD(U) and has been focusing on the upcoming rally, the JD(U) Supremo and Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar has kept his quiet as usual.

In hopes to resolve their differences, the Deputy Chief Minister, Tejashwi Yadav met with the Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Tuesday. The two met for a closed door meeting for nearly 45 minutes in a first interaction since the crisis broke out.

Tejashwi’s elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav, who is also the health minister of Bihar and Congress state president, Ashok Choudhary, Bihar’s Education minister were also present in the closed door meeting that took place in the Chief Minister’s official chamber.

During the meeting, Tejashwi is believed to have presented the Chief Minister with a detailed defence of the charges against him.

Former MP Shivanand Tiwari on Wednesday said, “Crisis is almost over, now the Grand Alliance is on track.”

An RJD leader also said, “There is no threat to the ruling Mahagathbandhan of the JD-U, RJD and Congress as both top leaders of the alliance -- Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar -- have agreed to end the crisis.”

He added, “It is decided that Tejashwi will act according to the CBI action in the case in the coming months...But Tejashwi will not resign now.”

Another RJD leader said Nitish Kumar was satisfied after the Deputy Chief Minister met him and put forth his stand.

However, despite RJD and Congress claiming mended relations, the JD(U) Chief has kept his silence. His silence, according to chronicled evidence only surfaces when the sagacious politician is in the middle of a huge decision.
