The government of Utter Pradesh has asked all departments in the state to notify vacant posts due to retirements and resignations. The recruitment process had been delayed in the last three years at the department level for not sending a request to the commission. This has hampered the recruitment process in the state.
In a letter to all departmental heads in the state the Chief Secretary, Rajive Kumar stated, “All department heads have been asked to send a request for recruitments to state public service commission (PSC) for filling vacancies in their departments arising due to retirement and resignation”.
He further stated that the delay got prolonged as the recruitment process takes two years. Adding to the statement, it is said that the Department of Personals had issued directives to various departments three years ago to send requests for recruitments to vacant posts. The letter also stated that it has impacted the various government work and overall efficiency adversely, as the previous directives were not implemented at the department level.
The chief Secretary further said, “The request for recruitment for vacancies arising out of retirement from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018, must have been sent to the PSC.”
The letter also directed the department officials to ensure that the requests be sent latest by end of this month. Mr Kumar also said that directives are given to all departments, to send the request on vacancies, occurring by 2018-19 be made by November 30, this year.
