Escaping many times from the eyes of army personnel, finally, the most wanted Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist Abu Dujana was gunned down by the security forces on Tuesday.

The security forces didn't want to miss the opportunity this time and laid a trap in such a way that Dujana did not get his way out.

As per the tip-off received by the security forces, the terrorist was about to visit his wife at a Hakripora residential complex in Pulwama. But he was unaware of the fact, that his every step was being noticed by the Jammu & Kashmir Police.

Also, earlier on two occasions, the Jammu & Kashmir Police had a close look on his meeting with his wife and a certain pattern of timing and the pre-arrival locational environment was seen.

Thus, after receiving the tip-off of his arrival at the village, the J&K police pressed its personnel in casual clothes at every corner of the house and watched silently under cover for two hours till reinforcements arrived.

A joint cordon and search operations headed by the J&K police and its special operations group was launched.  The security personnel including 182 Battalion, 183 Battalion, Central Reserve Police Force and 55 Rashtriya Rifles together achieved a milestone in killing the militant.

The operation was started at 4:30 am on Tuesday, following the confirmed intelligence input about the presence of militants in Hakripora village of Pulwama.

As the terrorists were inside the house, security forces blew up the house to flush out the terrorists in which Abu Dujana was killed.

However, Security forces are yet to confirm the identity of Dujana as one of the militants was killed in the operation conclusively and officially only after retrieving his body.

Dujana was involved in major terrorist activities in South Kashmir. It is also believed that he replaced Abu Qasim as LeT head of operations in South Kashmir since 2015 when Qasim was killed.
