From Ravana Rajya, Ayodhya Will Now Be Ram Rajya: Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath returned to Ayodhya on the occasion of Diwali to celebrate in a grand way the festival of lights. In an elaborate show organised by the state government, more than 380 artistes came from different parts of the country to perform in a 3-km Shobha Yatra recreating the return of Lord Ram to Ayodhya on the eve of Diwali.

"For 70 years, many have been deprived of food, power connections and (are) without a roof above their heads. The Centre and state governments' efforts at providing them all this is Ram Rajya for them," said UP CM Yogi.

"It was Ravana rajya earlier. Now it is Ram Rajya, where there is no discrimination on the basis of caste and religion," he said.

"Indonesia is the world's largest Muslim country and Muslim artists are here in Ayodhya to perform Ram Lila at the Diwali celebrations. I had discussions with them and they said that their religion may be Islam but Ram was their ancestor," said Yogi.

"The question marks over Ayodhya would soon vanish," he said.

"This celebration is an opportunity for us to present a positive picture of Ayodhya. In Ram Rajya, there was no place for sadness and poverty. Why did Ayodhya then become a place of so much negativity? This is our opportunity to make this a positive place," said CM Yogi.

"Both the Centre and state governments are working towards achieving the same goal and trying to make UP and the country a strong and capable one," Yogi said.

"Earlier even electric supply was ensured to only a few districts while the rest of the state suffered. Now, every district in UP is being provided electricity in equal measure. Those who used to divide the state and country based on caste and religion are now making allegations on the BJP government in the state," he said.

The Uttar Pradesh CM also highlighted the achievements of his government.

"We have waived loans of farmers, provided homes to 11 lakh people, distributed 37 lakh ration cards, procured grains from farmers at attractive prices, given more than 22 lakh free power connections, distributed more than one crore free uniforms, bags and books. The power situation in Ayodhya has improved. Earlier power supply was for no longer than 1-2 hours but we are ready to give power to Ayodhya for 24 hours," he said.

"UP should become hub of tourism and we are starting this initiative from Ayodhya. People should stop talking negatively about Ayodhya since this town has taught the world about Ram's good works. Under the PM's vision, there will be no homeless in the country by 2022, no family will be without a toilet by 2019, and there will be electrification of all homes. For a person who has never used a gas stove or has not had light at home, when these promises are delivered it will be Ram Rajya. Ayodhya will not be neglected anymore," he said.
