Former TN Chief Minister Meets Prime Minister To Discuss AIADMK Merger

Meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam on Monday, discussed the issues related to the AIADMK merger between its two factions, led by Panneerselvam and current Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami.

The meeting, attended by Rajya Sabha MP V Maithreyan, former Rajya Sabha Member Manoj Pandian, former state minister KP Munusamy, ended a long 30 minutes.

RS leader V Maithreyan, after the meeting, told a media outlet that the former Tamil Chief Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed all the major issues affecting the state and added that the meeting went on smoothly.

According to sources, while the discussed a long set of topics including NEET, the AIADMK merger between the two factions was the main issue in the meeting.

Earlier on Friday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami had met the Prime Minister to discuss the AIADMK merger. O Panneerselvam was also scheduled to meet the Prime Minister the same day, however, it got rescheduled to Monday.

The meeting came before the third faction of the AIADMK, which is led by the party's deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran, is set to hold an MGR centenary function at Melur near Madurai where he will answer questions about the party and him.
