Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav Granted 6-Week Provisional Bail

The Ranchi High court on Friday granted a 6-week provisional bail to former chief minister Lalu Yadav, who has been convicted in several fodder scam-related cases.

On Thursday, the court had granted parole for three days to Lalu to attend his son's wedding in Patna on Saturday. The bail is granted to Prasad on medical grounds. However, some restrictions were urged on Lalu which he needs to abide by while being out of jail on parole.

The payroll is granted by the Justice Apresh Kumar Singh on health grounds. RJD chief is not allowed to talk to media and even politician, party worker or media person will not be allowed in the locale of the former Bihar chief minister.

After receiving the parole he reached Ranchi on Thursday. Prasad's elder son and former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav's marriage with former Bihar chief minister Daroga Prasad Rai’s granddaughter Aishwarya Rai is scheduled on May 12 in Patna.

In the engagement ceremony, except the RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is currently serving a sentence after conviction in fodder scam cases, all close family members and friends were there.

UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi, Bihar Governor Satya Pal Mallik, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and Chief Justice of the Patna High Court Rajendra K Menon and Yoga guru Baba Ramdev are the prominent people who have been invited to the wedding.
