Days After Chandigarh Stalker, A Mumbai Mother Of 2 Gets Stalked

Barely days after the son of Haryana BJP chief was arrested in Chandigarh for stalking the daughter of an IAS officer, another woman was stalked in Mumbai, a city known for being 'safe' for women.

The woman who was with her two children and another woman in the car recounted her harrowing experience on Facebook when an IT professional followed her car home and even went so far as to ring her doorbell at 2 AM. The accused was later arrested by Mumbai police.

Aditi Nagpaul a resident of Shastri Nagar in Lokhandwala, described how she was followed home when she was driving in her car with her two kids. The accused Niteshkumar Sharma, 36 followed her home with no regard for CCTV cameras or security personnel and reached her residence and rang her doorbell at 2 AM. Sharma finally left when Nagpaul raised an alarm and was arrested after she filed a FIR.

The incident comes days after Chandigarh resident Varnika Kundu was stalked by Vikas Barala, the son of Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala when she was driving home on August 4 around 12.30 PM. Found in an inebriated state, Vikas and his friend Ashish were arrested but later bailed. The incident stirred-up controversy as the Opposition alleged that the issue was being covered up for political reasons.
