One Cop Arrested For Plotting To Flee Ram Rahim From Panchkula Court

One police personnel has been arrested for plotting the escape of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Panchkula on August 25, the day Ram Rahim was convicted for raping two of his female disciples.

Ram Rahim's adopted daughter and close confidante Honeypreet Insan had also been accused of plotting to help the Dera chief flee and in connection with the violence that took place in Panchkula on the day of the sentencing that led to the death of more than 35 people.

After absconding for 38 days, Honeypreet was finally arrested on October 3 with her accomplice Sukhdeep Kaur and the duo were sent to judicial custody till October 23 by a Panchkula court. Before her arrest, on the very same day, Honeypreet had given an interview to media, professing her innocence.

According to reports, Honeypreet was not cooperating in the investigation, and only later admitted her role in masterminding the Panchkula violence. Panchkula Police Commissioner A S Chawla also alleged that Honeypreet was misleading the police.

A Special Investigating Team (SIT) of the Haryana Police has also arrested the Dera Sacha Sauda Chartered Accountant and CEO of MSG Company CP Arora over his alleged role in the Panchkula violence.
