The Congress party on Saturday came down heavily on the Narendra Modi Government as the latter celebrates the fourth anniversary of Government formation. In a press conference, senior Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ashok Gehlot, Randeep Singh Surjewala and heads of its frontal organizations viz Indian Youth Congress, Mahila Congress and Sewa Dal accused the government of disrespecting the mandate of the people and fooling the voters. They released a 44-page booklet highlighting the failures of Modi Government titled ‘India Betrayed’.

The booklet focuses on Farmer distress, lack of jobs, layoffs, absence of a concrete education policy, Vyapam, SSC and CBSE paper leak, Bank loot, Rafale deal, corruption, asset rise of BJP leaders and their kins, the perils of demonetisation and GST, fuel price hike, NPAs and several other key issues.

“India has been betrayed in four years of BJP misrule. BJP should now be renamed officially as Betrayal Janata Party,” Randeep Surjewala said.

“After spending 4600 crore rupees on insurmountable advertisements, PM Modi is in a perpetual campaign but refuses to understand people’s pain. In 4 years he accumulated publicity but India accumulated only pain,” he further added.

Earlier in the day, Congress President Rahul Gandhi tweeted his report card for the Modi Government.
