Amid escalating tension between the two neighbours, China has issued a fresh warning to India. Calling Indian overtures for a peaceful negotiation as an 'illusory thinking', China seems to be in no mood to douse the stand-off very soon or quickly, Chinese defence ministry spokesperson has said that India must not try to take the People's Liberation Army (PLA) lightly.

Talking to the media on Monday spokesperson Wu Qian said, 'Shaking a mountain is easy but shaking the PLA is hard.'  He was trying to sell the point to India that it would be a grave mistake on latter's part to get indulged with the might of the PLA. The Chinese state-run media Global Times quoted him as saying, 'Over the last 90 years the PLA has increased its unshakable determination and capabilities to safeguard its sovereignty.'

Wu has reiterated  Chinese stand on Doklam impasse when he urged India to withdraw its troop from the flashpoint area at the tri-junction near Bhutan.  He called it a precondition and the basis for a peaceful resolution of the conflict. Over  the period China has squarely blamed India for provocation and called to take practical measures  to correct its wrongdoing.

The Doklam, where India has stopped PLA's plan of building road, is the area  which China claims as its own but Bhutan has termed it as trampling of its sovereignty. India has extended its helping hand to Bhutan and also trying to protect its own fragile border in Siliguri-Sikkim area, also known as Chicken's neck.

Earlier, India has said that both sides should pull back troops to discuss the matter through diplomatic channels. Indian foreign minister Sushma Swaraj categorically said, 'China is trying to change the delicate balance at the tri-junction unilaterally. This cannot be allowed to do so at any cost.'
