A day after the newly elected Rajya Sabha member and National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Amit Shah met the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in person, the NDA leader has already offered the JDU leader a seat at the table.

BJP leader Amit Shah, on Saturday, formally invited Nitish Kumar, chief of Janata Dal (United), to join the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Shah confirmed the rumours on Saturday after he tweeted, "I met JD(U) president Nitish Kumar at my residence yesterday. I invited JD(U) to join the NDA."

The NDA's move comes a day after the JD(U) Chief met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah in his first in-person meeting after the political upheaval in Bihar.

According to sources, the JD(U) is considering the offer and will announce its final decision on whether to join the BJP-led NDA or not, in the party's national executive meeting scheduled in Patna on August 19.
