BJP Leaps To Defend Haryana CM Khattar, Says Violence Was Handled Well

As demands of resignation swarm around Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in the wake of government's failure in controlling the Ram Rahim Verdict outburst, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has leaped into his defence.

According to sources, the BJP National President Amit Shah, in a high-level party meeting said, "Keeping in mind the significance of Dera, the violence is handled well."

In the meeting, chaired by Amit Shah, BJP Haryana general secretary Dr Anil Jain and senior party leader Kailash Vijaivargiya, it was decided that the Haryana Chief Minister will keep his position and will not be summoned to Delhi for any clarification.

The report comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah reportedly met on Saturday to discuss the Haryana Chief Minister's status.

Earlier, Punjab and Haryana High Court slammed the Haryana Chief Minister over poor security measures saying that the government let the state burn for political gains.

Reportedly, Chief Minister Khattar have had good relations with the rape convict Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and enjoyed his support in the elections.
