Bajrang Dal Activists Assault Hisar Imam After Amarnath Yatra Attack

Activists of the Bajrang Dal in Haryana's Hisar slapped and abused the Imam of a mosque in Haryana's Hisar district in the aftermath of the terrorist attack on Hindu pilgrims of the Amarnath Yatra on Monday which killed 7 people.

In a video that has gone viral, the Imam, identified as Mohammad Yaseen was slapped, pushed and heckled by a group of Bajrang Dal members during a protest near the Lahoriya Chowk mosque on Tuesday evening.

The men saw Yaseen, who hails from UP's Saharanpur, emerge from the mosque as they were protesting the terrorist attack on the Amarnath Yatra and forced him to say 'Vande Mataram' and 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'.

When Yaseen did not say the words and objected to being forced to say such slogans he was abused and assaulted by the Bajrang Dal men.

According to reports, following the incident, there was communal tension in the Haryana town. After a complaint filed by the local traders' association, the police has increased security in the area.

A bus on the Amarnath Yatra was attacked by a group of terrorists identified as belonging to the Lashkar-e-Taiba militant group. Thanks to the bravery and quick thinking of the driver Saleem, the bus doors remained closed and the terrorists were not able to board and the bus drove away.
