After the Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned RJD Chief Lalu Yadav’s daughter in the money laundering case, the ED has now summoned his son-in-law Shailesh Kumar for questioning.
Lalu’s daughter Misa, was questioned for around eight hours on Tuesday following the raids ED conducted on their residence.
Reportedly, Bharti was asked to bring some documents, including her personal financial details. As reported by PTI, she deposed before the sleuths around 11 AM and her statement was recorded under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The CBI, on Saturday, had raided the Rajya Sabha Member’s residence in relation to a Rs 8,000 crore money laundering case. Allegedly, Bharti had links with a firm named M/s Mishail Printers and Packers Private Limited, suspected of money laundering and a Chartered Accountant, who is already arrested by the CBI.
The investigation agency had conducted raids on the couple’s three premises in the national capital on Saturday.
Earlier, the CBI filed a corruption case against the RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav and carried out multiple raids at his and his family members’ residences. Lalu Yadav is allegedly charged for irregularities in the leasing of two railway hotels to a private company during his tenure as the Railway Minister.
