5-Year-Old Killed After Being Hit By UP Minister's Cavalcade In Gonda

In a shocking incident from the Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh, a 5-year-old child was killed after being hit by a UP minister's cavalcade. Even after the child was hit, the car did not stop and dragged along the 5-year-old boy, Shiva on the road.

According to reports, the car cavalcade belonging to UP minister Om Prakash Rajbhar hit the 5-year-old boy Shiva who was walking along the side of the road on the Colonelganj-Paraspur route with his mother and aunt. The cars did not stop after the child was hit and dragged him along.

Angered locals and relatives of the child staged a protest in the middle of the road after the car did not stop even after hitting the child.

Vishwanath, the father of the deceased child, registered a case at the Colonelganj police station, filed under sections 279 and 304A and the child's body has been sent for post-mortem.

"My son was walking on the left side of the road when the cavalcade passed and hit my child. The cars did not stop, one car had the minister's guards, they stopped for a little while but then they also left," said Vishwanath.

In the wake of the incident, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh for the family and urged the police to take immediate action in the case.
