Addressing the media in Patna, RJD leader Lalu Yadav has asserted that there is a strong possibility that the Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party leader Mayawati may come together to form a strong opposition against the BJP in the much anticipated General Elections of 2019.

Lalu further alluded that if it were to happen, then the 2019 match would be over for presumably the Bhartiya Janata Party.

Obviously responding to Sushil Modi’s repeated allegations against the opposition, Lalu Yadav in his address said that there was a systematic attack on Robert Vadra, Priyanka Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal Mamata Banerjee and himself.

Senior BJP leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi has been bombarding the opposition leaders in Bihar and elsewhere with a series of serious corruption allegations.

On Wednesday itself, Sushil Modi in a press conference called RJD leader Lalu Yadav the ‘Robert Vadra of Bihar’. Sushil Modi in his press conference said that “Lalu Prasad is the Robert Vadra of Bihar. Over 125 properties acquired by Lalu and his family fall under benami transactions. It is his (Lalu's) nature to give ministerial berths in return for land.”

Modi also attacked the Bihar Chief Minister saying, “On one hand Nitish says there is zero tolerance against corruption, but at the same time he is not acting against corruption cases taken up by the Income Tax officials.”

This comes at a time when the opposition is falling apart be it over Nitish’s support to the BJP presidential candidate or Lalu all out attacks on Nitish Kumar.

Earlier this week, JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar cleared his name from the Prime Ministerial candidacy saying he doesn’t want to be the Prime Minister. He also pitched the Congress to the front saying it’s the largest party in the opposition hence should take the lead.
