10 Dead, Several Injured In A Major Fire At Firecracker Godown In Telangana's Warangal

At least 10 people are reported dead and several others injured after a fire broke out in a firecracker godown in Warangal district of Telangana on Monday.

According to media reports the fire broke out in the noon. Firefighters rushed to the venue and the rescue operation is still in progress. According to the local police, around 15 people were reported inside the godown when the fire broke out. Four fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

Local media reports say that some of the people have suffered severe burns and have been shifted to the MGM Government Hospital. An investigation has been ordered to determine the cause of the fire, however, the police are suspecting a short circuit to be the initiator of the blaze. The factory is located on the Eumamula Market Yard road in the city

The incident according to the reports, occurred around 11.30 a.m. and the impact of the explosion was such that the entire roof of the fireworks factory was blown off. Initial reports also said some houses near the incident site suffered from some cracks in their walls from the impact of the blast.

After the blast, people in the vicinity immediately rushed to help the injured and also called the police and the fire services to control the flames.
