UP To Become 6th State To Regulate Private Schools's Fee Structure

[caption id="attachment_251817" align="aligncenter" width="700"]Representative Image Representative Image[/caption] In good news for parents, Uttar Pradesh is set to join 5 other states that have framed laws to regulate the fee structures in private schools, aiming to stabilize the trend of spiralling school fees. Once all stakeholders weigh in, the draft ordinance 'UP Schools (Regularisation of Fee Collection), 2016' will be presented before the cabinet to regularise the private school fees payment structures and prevent private schools from extracting exorbitant fees. ALSO READ: Won’t Allow Private Schools To Hike Fees, Says Smriti Irani The government has planned to enforce the ordinance by penalising schools charging more than the fees prescribed by the fee-regulating committee. Schools going against the ordinance would first face a warning, and then be at the risk of de-recognition and cancellation of registration. Apart from UP, Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan have already set up similar legislations.
