In an incident that shows the dark side of Indian politics, Uttar Pradesh BJP Vice President Dayashankar Singh on Tuesday compared BSP supremo Mayawati to a prostitute.
In a statement to the media, Singh said that, "Even a prostitute fulfils her commitment after she is paid. But Mayawati sells party tickets to anyone who paid her the highest amount. If someone gives her Rs 1 cr for a ticket she will give it to other person who is offering Rs 2 cr.”
"Mayawati has become worse than a prostitute and abandons the ideals of Kanshi Ram," headded.
Reacting to his statement, Mayawati said that, "These kind of derogatory statements show that BJP is frustrated with the growing public support for BSP."
"BSP ki badhti hui taakat ki baukhlaahat hai ye, aur kuch nahin hai," she added.
Meanwhile, BJP UP Chief Keshav Maurya has said that the party would probe the incident and it something objectionable is found, the party would deliberate on it.
"I don't know what he(Dayashankar) has said. If anything objectionable is found, party will deliberate on it," Maurya said.
