A start-up CEO from Bengaluru named Mudit Dandwate, 26, lost his left forearm in an unfortunate encounter with a crocodile while he was on a quest to save his two dogs from drowning in the water.
Mudit, an IIT graduate, went to visit a temple in Ramanagaram district along with a friend and two of his pet dogs. As he moved out of the car, his dogs ran towards the forested area and jumped into the water body that was prescribed to be a 'restricted area'.

As the nation prepares for the rollout of the Goods and Services Tax on July 1, 2017, Jammu and Kashmir remains the only state not having cleared the legislature.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley wrote to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday urging the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the state along with the rest of the nation.

A six year old girl was buried alive in Agra reportedly by an unidentified man on Thursday night barely a kilometre away from her house. The girl survived the ordeal and was rescued on Friday morning.
The victim's family, who lives in Dharira village filed a complaint against the unidentified man under IPC section, 364 (kidnapping or abducting in order to murder) in the Etmadpur police station.
The girl, Tanu Baghel and her father, Vinod Singh Baghel were sleeping out in the veranda of their house on Thursday. Vinod woke up in the middle of the night to find his daughter missing. After raising an alarm, he called out a search party to look for the missing girl. The search continued till morning in vain. The police at Etmadpur police station were informed of the incident.
Station House Officer of Etmadpur police station, Brahm Singh reported that at around 8am, a shepherd, who was out in the fields with his flock, noticed a hand sticking out of the mud. He and some other villagers pulled the girl out of the ground and found her alive but, unconscious. The villagers took the girl to a nearby hospital where she is being treated
The SHO denied the presence of any evidence of a sexual assault and said that the act seems to be of a mentally unstable person.
Police are further investigating the case to apprehend the accused.
