School students held a protest march against the recent rape-murder of a 14 year old girl in Kopardi village in Ahmednagar.
The incident took place on July 13 when in Ahmednagar district, a class IX student was gangraped by three men and then brutally murdered.
The girl was raped at her own farm where the assailants seized her and brutally raped her. A post-mortem reported that she had fractured limbs, dislocated shoulders and several human bite marks on her body. She was killed by strangulation.
Her cousin spotted one of the assailants when he attempted to drag her body out of the farm.
Pappu Shinde (25), the main accused first claimed that we worked alone in the heinous crime but, the vicitm's brother claimed that his sister was strong and could not be overpowered by the likes of Shinde alone. Further investigation led to the arrests of Santosh Bhawal (36) and Nitin Bhailume (26).
The three men belonged to the same village as the victim.
The incident was followed by heavy protests in the district. A protest march was held by a large number of schoolgirls on Tuesday.
