Companies of Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Chandra's Essel Group are in the midst of investigations over the Rs 11,808 crore lottery scam in Mizoram in the North-East. According to a report by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India presented in the Mizoram assembly in December 2016, there was extensive negligence and discrepancies in the state government's lottery operations which resulted in the loss of more than Rs 11 crore for the government, an amount more than its annual revenue.

BCCI's acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary has said that the Indian cricket board will form a Committee to make sure it can implement the Lodha Panel reforms in the swiftest way possible. Rajya Sabha MP Ram Gopal Yadav has been reinstated in the Samajwadi Party and will resume duties as SP's General Secretary, Spokesperson and be a part of the SP Central Parliamentary Board, announced Mulayam Singh Yadav in a press note.
After the reinstatement announcement, Ram Gopal said "this had to happen. I am back in the Party due to blessings of Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav), he was never against me. Despite being technically expelled, I was always in the party. I have never said or done anything against the party line."
