The centre had planned heavily for the expected Jat quota stir, calling in extra paramilitary forces as well as limiting traffic on roads and placing restrictions on the movement of the Delhi metro. The decision to postpone the stir was announced after Jat leader Yashpal Malik met with CM Khattar on Sunday. Khattar had reiterated that the state government was committed to resolving the issues raised by the Jats.
