The Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Delhi, Najeeb Jung has called the verdict of Delhi High Court a historic one in a statement on Thursday.
The Delhi High Court on Thursday had said that the LG is not bound by the aid and advice of the Delhi government's council of ministers. It further added that that Delhi government notifications must be issued after consulting the LG.

LG Najeeb Jung called a press conference on Thursday where he stated, "It's not anybody's victory, it's about Constitutional validity."
The LG added, "Of course, we report to the Central Govt but, it's wrong to say we work against the Delhi Government. We did not go to court, they (Delhi Govt) went. We just read out the constitution in court."

In a major set back for the AAP government, the court on Thursday also added that the that Anti-Corruption Branch cannot initiate investigation against central government officials.
The court's judgement came on nine different petitions arising out of the spat between the LG and Delhi's AAP government over the power to appoint bureaucrats in the national capital and other issues.
