Dehradun : Congress Holds 'Torch Rally' Against President's Rule In The State

Just hours after Uttarakhand High Court questioned the Centre's move to impose President's Rule in the state, Congress decided to hold a 'Torch Rally' in Dehradun protesting against the President rule. congress rally On Monday, hearing a petition filed by Chief Minister Harish Rawat against Centre's decision, the court said, "The Governor is not an agent of the Centre." The bench further added that by doing so the centre is just cutting at root of democracy. The Modi government had imposed President's Rule in Uttarakhand on March 27, a day before CM Harish Rawat was to prove his majority in the state Assembly.
