Bombay High Court will On Monday hear the petition filed by Manish Bhangale, a Vadodara hacker, against former Maharashtra revenue minister Eknath Khadse over his alleged links with underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim.
MP Sanjay Kakade was given interim protection from arrest until June 7th, accused in the multi-crore Maharashtra Sadan scam case, in which former state deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal is also allegedly involved.
Bhangale, who filed the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) on May 29, reportedly alleged that the call records from Dawood's Karachi residence showed that he was in frequent touch with a specific mobile number that was registered in Khadse name.
In his petition, Bhangale also alleged that the Mumbai Police had strong electronic evidence against Khadse, yet no action was taken against him.
The inquiry into the matter is currently in progress by anti-terrorism squad (ATS), Maharashtra. The ATS had summoned Bhangale to their headquarters in Mumbai for recording his statement, but he did not show up on Saturday, but he instead sent his lawyer.
