A 9-member BJP team to visit Kairana(UP)to probe into migration of 346 families from village due to rising crime graph.
The BJP lawmaker from Kairana, Hukum Singh, has alleged that 346 families have been forced to flee the town, which has an 85 per cent Muslim population, after attacks.
Police, however, have denied that there has been such a large migration.
Earlier, National Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to the government of Uttar Pradesh over several families leaving their homes in Kairana due to alleged fear of criminals.
The Commission had issued a notice to the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police (DGP) of the state seeking the response within four weeks on the complaint.
On June 10, the NHRC has observed that allegations made are serious in nature. It has also directed state's DIG (Investigation) to depute a team of officers for a spot enquiry in the matter covering all the allegations made in the complaint and submit a report within two weeks.
