Mulling over alleged indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav's mercy petition, Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa is analysing the evidence against him to take a decision on his sentence.

A military spokesperson, replying to a question on Jadhav's case said, the Army chief was reviewing the proceedings of the case and would take a decision on the mercy appeal on merit.

According to Pakistan's Geo News, Pakistani army chief was reviewing Jadhav's case in order to make a decision at the earliest.
The spokesperson was quoted as saying that Gen Bajwa's decision would come "at the earliest". The official said the decision "will be based on justice", the state-run radio reported.

In April, a Pakistani Military Court has sentenced Jadhav to death for his alleged involvement in espionage and terrorist activities in Balochistan. After a huge public outrage on the matter, India had challanged the Pakistani Court's decision in the International Court of Justice.

The International Court halted Pakistani Corurt's decision in The Hague and staying his execution indefinately.

While Pakistan claims that Jadhav was arrested from Balochistan province on 3 March last year, India stays firm on their claims that pakistan kidnapped the former navy officer from Iran where he had business interests.
