G 20: PM Modi Meets With Leaders From South Korea And Italy

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the leaders of South Korea and Italy on Friday.

The Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni and South Korean President Moon Jae-in discussed with Modi of ways to boost bilateral ties and cooperation at the global level.

The Prime Minister of Italy appreciated Indian investments in his country, including in industrial sector.

The two leaders also discussed ways and means to work together for providing sustainable solutions to prevent climate change and promote development in Africa.

These meetings took place on the sidelines of the ongoing G 20 summit. Modi is also scheduled to meet with the leaders of other countries which include Argentina, Mexico, Vietnam and the U.K.

Modi is set to participate in various other events which will include sessions on Partnership with Africa, Migration and Health; and Digitalization, women’s empowerment and employment.

On the first day of the Summit, Modi held bilaterals with Japan’s Shinzo Abe and Canada’s Justin Trudeau.

Commenting on the meeting with Abe today, the Ministry of External Affairs said the two leaders briefly reviewed progress in bilateral relations, including in important projects, since their last meeting in Japan during Modi’s visit in November 2016. Prime Minister Modi expressed satisfaction in developments in bilateral relations since then.
