Om Raut, the director of one of the most anticipated films of 2019, “Taanaji - The Unsung Warrior”, unveiled Ajay Devgn's first look as Taanaji through his Twitter account on Tuesday.
The caption with the picture was "Happy New Year! Har Har Mahadev." The new still features Ajay Devgn as Taanaji and his men jumping and descending through what looks like a gorge in the mountains with the help of thick ropes.
Dressed in white dhoti, kammarbandh (waistband), armour, pagdi (headgear) in action with a sword in his hand and his face partially covered. His eyes looked fierce and loaded with anger.
Ajay Devgn is playing the legendary Maratha warrior, Subedar Taanaji Malusare, in the film. Taanaji was one of Chhatrapati Shivaji's generals and a warrior par excellence.
Though not much is known about the film. It will also feature Saif Ali Khan as the opposing force in the form of the Rajput warrior Udaybhan Rathod.
Earlier, while releasing the first poster of the film on his social media handle, Ajay captioned it, "He fought for his People, his Soil & his King Chhatrapati Shivaji. The unsung warrior of glorious Indian history, Subedar Taanaji Malusare."
