The legendary actress Sridevi's untimely demise has left the entire Indian film industry and her fans all around the globe mourning. Saluting the iconic Diva for her unparallel contribution to cinema, the 'Mom' star was honoured at the ongoing 71st Cannes International Film Festival.

The multilingual personality was saluted at Titan Reginald F. Lewis Film Honours and a special visual footage was screened in her honour. Unlike what earlier reports suggested, none of Sridevi's family members reached to receive the award but filmmaker Subhash Ghai saved the day.

The director received the award on behalf of Sridevi's family and shared his experience of working with the "impeccable inimitable actor" at the event on Thursday. He tweeted several pictures from the ceremony while expressing his gratitude for collecting the honour.

Sridevi's husband, Boney Kapoor has stated, "Janhvi, Khushi and I are overwhelmed with the recognition and tributes and love of millions of her fans being showered on her. Her work and life have touched so many hearts across the world and she has been an inspiration to millions. She will live forever, thanks to her body of work."

The actress was posthumously honoured with the 65th National Film Award in best actress category for her performance in 'Mom', which also starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna. At the 90th Academy Awards ceremony too, Sridevi was honoured in the ‘Memoriam’ section.

Known as Bollywood's first female superstar, Sridevi died of accidental drowning in Dubai on February 24, 2018. The actress had gone to attend the wedding festivities of her nephew Mohit Marwah with her younger daughter Khushi Kapoor and husband Boney Kapoor.
