Ranveer Singh's forthcoming venture 'Simmba' is yet to go on floors but the cinephile is already super-excited for his collaboration with the blockbuster filmmaker Rohit Shetty. Disappointingly, R Madhavan who was supposed to play the villain in the film has backed out due to his injury.

The 'Tanu Weds Manu' actor confirmed the development through a tweet which read, "Hey folks .. So I am a huge crazy fan of Rohit Shetty and his films. As is my son. It breaks both our hearts that I’m not able to be a part of this film because of my injury. I’m well on my way to recovery but this is a huge opportunity and excitement lost."

As they say that one person's loss is always other's gain and if the latest reports are to be believed, Madhavan's loss has now become a gain for the hotshot actor Sonu Sood. After unleashing his bad side in Salman Khan's Dabangg, the actor will once again play a villain for Rohit Shetty's Simmba.

Earlier, makers have revealed Ranveer Singh's look in the film through a funky poster. Playing the badass cop named Sangram Bhalerao, the lead actor will be playing a completely different yet humorous role in the film. Sara Ali Khan has been a role in as the leading lady.

Earlier talking about the film, Rohit has said, "I am doing a film with Ranveer which will be full of action. This will be the first time people will see him performing so many action sequences. He has great energy and after working with him in a commercial, even I believe so."

While 'Simmba' is Rohit and Ranveer's first film together, they are worked on a commercial before. A release date is yet to be finalised but the film inspired by Jr NTR’s Telugu film Temper is slated to release on December 28 clashing with Salman Khan's Dabangg 3.
