Radhika Apte Gears Up For Female-Driven World War II Hollywood Spy Drama

Bollywood actress Radhika Apte has carved a niche for herself film industry by playing conventional characters onscreen but her reach is not limited to Hindi cinema. The versatile beauty will now be seen starring in a WW II spy drama alongside Stana Katic and Sarah Megan Thomas.

The film will follow the journey of three 'real' spies who were a part of Winston Churchill’s 'secret army.' Starting from the primary character of Katic, a British intelligence officer Vera Atkins, who will send spies to France, the story will move to the other two spies.

Sarah Megan Thomas will play a brave American woman named Virginia Hall with a wooden leg, who is feared by the Nazis whereas Radhika's character Noor Inayat is a pacifist of Indian descent who was the first female wireless operator. Having their own journey, their lives get tangled.

Besides being ordered by her boss to carry out the mission, Katic's character has an ulterior motive, which surfaces as she forms sisterhood with the two spies - Virginia and Noor, to France for collecting relevant information to change the course of an impending war.

Helmed by Lydia Dean Pilcher, renowned for producing films like Queen of Katwe and The Darjeeling Limited, the screenplay of the spy drama will be penned by Thomas, who is also attached to the project as a producer. The film also stars Linus Roache and Rossif Sutherland.

Radhika Apte will be next seen in Netflix India's first original drama 'Sacred Games' also starring Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. She also has another Netflix project titled Lust stories also starring Vicky Kaushal, Manisha Koirala and Bhumi Pednekar in her kitty.
