The mid-air tussle between comedians Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover, when in a drunk state Kapil hit Sunil, has had lasting effects on their respective pay scales. After the incident, Sunil Grover quit Kapil's show 'The Kapil Sharma Show' and branched off into doing live shows and special appearances on other TV shows while Kapil manages to keep together his namesake show.
According to a recent report, Sunil has now started charging double the amount of fee he used to charge, jumping from Rs 7-8 lakh per episode to a whopping Rs 13-14 lakhs per episode. Meanwhile, due to the falling popularity of The Kapil Sharma Show, Kapil was forced to reduce his earnings.
The Kapil Sharma Show TRP ratings have dipped post Sunil's exit as the show went down to being on number 14 from being in the top 10. Kapil was expected to sign a deal worth Rs 107 crore for the renewal of his contract with Sony TV, however, reports suggest that the channel might not sign on the comedian.
Over the past few months, Kapil has missed shooting of episodes at least thrice, due to his 'ill health'. One show which was later canceled was with the star cast of Jab Harry Met Sejal, superstar Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma, while another canceled show had been planned with the cast of Mubarakan, Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Athiya Shetty and Ileana D'Cruz.
While Sunil Grover has not been a fixed name with any specific comedy show, he has been seen performing in live shows across the country.
