Several Catholics were angered after Miley Cyrus promoted her surprise album with a photoshopped picture of the Pope Francis holding a copy of it. Many found the use of the Pope's photo to promote her album Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz offensive. Another fan agreed, "Yeah not okay with this, love u but love Pope Francis more." A joint effort with The Flaming Lips, the album boasts guest appearances from Big Sean, the former Disney star's dad Billy Ray Cyrus and her frequent collaborator Mike WiLL Made It.
