After Padmaavat's menacing Khilji, Ranveer Singh is ready to play the role of legendary cricketer Kapil Dev in '83. The Kabir Khan directorial set at the backdrop of India's first World Cup victory in 1983 has finally found a release date.

Sharing the special information with the eager fans, Ranveer Singh posted a group picture of himself with India's World Cup-winning squad along with the important crew members of his forthcoming cricket-based film which revolves around India historic triumph at England's Lords Stadium in 1983.

Along with the iconic picture, Ranveer wrote, "Mark your calendar! '83 will be releasing on August 30th, 2019. '83 stars Ranveer Singh. Directed by Kabir Khan (sic)."

The special event organised by '83 makers in September was graced by the captain of 1983 World Cup-winning team, Kapil Dev, vice-captain Mohinder Amarnath, Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Bishan Singh Bedi, Sandeep Patil, Dilip Vengsarkar, Yashpal Sharma and Madan Lal.

Ranveer has shared some watch-worthy pictures from the event and captioned the gallery, "What a day it's been. To have met our sporting heroes in the flesh and be regaled by their stories - full of nostalgia, humour, emotion...a truly unforgettable event."

The actor feels blessed and honoured to be working on such a glorifying film. He stated, " I feel honoured and privileged to be part of this film... I'm filled with a sense of responsibility and committed to making a film that the entire nation can be proud of."

Talking about the film, he added, "One of the greatest underdog stories of all time - finally coming to the silver screen... The greatest Indian sports story will now get its deserved cinematic glory! It's time to relive 83 may God bless our endeavour."

'83 is helmed by Kabir Khan, who is extremely proud of the film. He has earlier said, "I will continue making films but there are some projects which come to you which are much above films and our individual career and '83 is that kind of a project."
