Wow! Kangana Ranaut To Promote Gandhian Philosophy With Michelle Obama & Oprah Winfrey

Bollywood's queen Kangana Ranaut who caused an uproar with her unapologetic statements on equality in Hindi film fraternity is an ardent follower of Mahatma Gandhi's ideology. Talking about her love for Gandhian philosophy, the actress will be representing India at 'Gandhi Going Global' summit.

Notably, America's former first lady Michelle Obama and renowned host-actress-philanthropist Oprah Winfrey will be joining the 'Simran' actress to promote Mahatma Gandhi’s ideology and philosophy on a global platform. The event will take place in the US on August 18 and 19.

Talking about the great opportunity, Kangana said, "For me, it’s always been about the impact you make on society and how you contribute to it. Sharing the stage with Michelle and Oprah will be inspiring. I’ve never been anybody’s fan but I admire and idolise women like Oprah."

The 'Manikarnika' actress is currently residing in her Manali bungalow and will work on her speech after returning home. "Once I get back to Mumbai, I will know exactly what I will be talking on and for how long, depending on that I will prepare my speech," she said.

The event will be attended by over 500 NGOs and organisations, 400 universities and more than 100 high schools. More than 25,000 people are expected to participate in the two-day event which will involve interactive activities, educational programs, motivational talks and cultural celebration.

Kangana also drew a connection between Mahatma Gandhi and the protagonist of her film 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' as both promoted Khadi in their own ways. She will soon start shooting for Prakash Kovelamudi directorial Mental Hai Kya with Rajkummar Rao.
