Even being a perfectionist cannot prevent accidents, as Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut found out when she got severely injured during a shoot for her upcoming film 'Manikarnika -The Queen of Jhansi'.

Despite taking advance training in sword-fighting from Hollywood action director Nick Powell who has been roped in to choreograph the fight sequences in Manikarnika, Kangana got slashed on her head and was rushed to the hospital.

Kangana had been shooting for an intense sword-fighting scene with her co-star Nihar Pandya when his sword accidentally hit her forehead, leaving her bleeding profusely.

A unit hand was quoted by Midday as saying, "Kangana was immediately rushed to Apollo hospital nearby, where she was admitted into the ICCU. She got 15 stitches on her forehead and will be under observation in the hospital for a few days. The examining doctor said that it was a close shave for her because the cut was too close to her bone."

According to producer Kamal Jain, the action scene had been rehearsed several times and Kangana had insisted on doing the scene herself instead of using a body double.

Jain said, "Kangana had to duck when Nihar attacked her, but the timing went wrong and Nihar's sword hit her forehead instead. It made a deep cut between her eyebrows. The drive to the hospital took a good 30 minutes, but she put up a brave front despite the pain and bleeding. Nihar was apologetic and felt terrible, but Kangana pacified him."

The doctors have warned the star that the gash will likely leave behind a scar. Reportedly Kangana is planning to keep the scar for the duration of shooting for Manikarnika as the story is of a warrior, but might opt for cosmetic surgery after the shoot for Manikarnika wraps up.
