2017 was a year of raising activism and voices against sexual harassment. Women from all over the world took part in the initiative and came forward about the assault they faced. Rose McGowan is the woman who became responsible for the commencement of this revolution.

The actor-turned-activist shook the entire globe when she brought the real face of Harvey Weinstein in front of the world. While the Hollywood mogul has faced many accusations non-consensual sex, his economic rapport always helped him in escaping the charges but Rose is not one to back out.

After exposing Weinstein, McGowan is currently battling to get him punished legally, an act which might leave her penniless. During a latest public appearance, Rose said, "I’m having to sell my house right now to pay legal bills fighting off the monster," referring to her legal war with Harvey.

The actress clarified that her financial troubles didn't arise from any disavowal of an NDA as she never signed one. " That was a mistake the press made, and actually a mistake that I made for a long time. I was misinformed by a lawyer that I had signed one, when in fact it turned out I hadn’t."

She further conveyed, "I thought I remember refusing that. I think NDAs, as we’re finding out, can be broken." Rose refrained from taking Weinstein's name throughout her conversation and requested the same from the journalists present to acknowledge her humanity.

Rose has separated herself from the Time's Up initiative as she is " trying to stop international rapists and child molesters" by bringing a change to the society, which she believes can't come from ones holding power in the industry.
