The Oscars were proving to be lucky for the musical La La Land which won 6 Oscars, but wasn't able to swing the most prominent award of Best Picture. Although initially the announcers veteran actor Warren Beatty and actress Faye Dunaway announced La La Land to be the winner, later the announcement was retracted and Moonlight was announced. However, La La Land still managed to take majority of Oscar awards in 2017, receiving awards for Best Actress In A Leading Role, Best Direction, Best Music (Original Song), Best Music (Original Score) Best Cinematography and Best Production Design. Apart from Best Picture, Moonlight won awards for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Actor In A Supporting Role (Mahershala Ali).
