Following the success of many socially relevant films, Bollywood seems to have become fascinated with the concept, so much so that the serial kisser himself is ready to feature in an inspirational film based on the real incidents on the Indian education system.

Piquing the interest of his admirers, Emraan Hashmi took the announcement of his recent collaboration with Bhushan Kumar's T-Series and Tanuj Garg & Atul Kasbekar's Ellipsis Entertainment for an edge-of-the-seat drama titled 'Cheat India' helmed by Soumik Sen to Twitter.

He wrote, "Emraan Hashmi Films is delighted to partner with T-Series (Bhushan Kumar) and Ellipsis Entertainment (Tanuj Garg, Atul Kasbekar) on Cheat India, a compelling, edge-of-the-seat drama inspired by real incidents in the Indian education system. To be directed by Soumik Sen and slated for a February 2019 worldwide release."

Calling the film's scripts "most engaging and riveting" that he has read in a long time, Emraan expressed his joy through an Instagram post stating, "In an era marked by the success of content alone, I'm excited to be essaying a character which I believe will be a landmark one in my film-ography."

Further adding about the film, Hashmi provided, "The edge-of-the-seat drama will take a startling look at the crimes in the Indian education system which has created a parallel ecosystem infested with a mafia of sorts. I am sure that every student and youth will hugely relate to the subject."

The film paying tribute to "every Indian student who is under pressure to excel in a competitive environment," as suggested by the director, is slated to hit the theatres in February 2019. Emraan Hashmi was last seen in Milan Luthria's 'Baadshaho'.
