Producer Bhushan Kumar announced on Friday that the release of his upcoming production ‘Cheat India’ had been preponed to January 18 to avoid a clash with Thackeray.

Actor of the film, Emraan Hashmi took to social media and announced that the film which was initially scheduled  to release on January 25, this year will now release a week earlier on January 18.

Thackeray is a biopic on the Indian politician Bal Thackeray. He was the founder of the political party, the Shiv Sena.

Ever since the trailer of Thackeray released, the Bal Thackeray had been demanding a solo release for the film, asking other filmmakers to change their release dates, so that it gets a clear release and enjoys the perks of the Republic Day weekend.

Cheat India revolves around the Indian education system and the consistent problem of exam cheating it grapples with.
