The renowned Bollywood director, Kundan Shah passed away on Saturday morning at 5 am. The classic filmmaker reportedly suffered a heart attack.

Kundan's contribution to Hindi cinema runs way deeper than just introducing satirical comedy to Bollywood. Films like 'Kya Kehna' and 'Dil Hai Tumhara' proved that the versatile director knew how to adapt the ongoing trend while keeping his special touch intact.

The alumnus of Film and Television Insitute of India, Pune has been among the most intelligent filmmakers of Bollywood. Protesting against the appointment of Gajendra Chauhan as FTII chairman, he returned his only National Award in 2015.

Shah has also directed much-acclaimed television series including 'Nukkad' and 'Wagle Ki Duniya'. His last directorial venture was 'P Se PM Tak' in 2014. The legend might have left the world but will always be remembered for his great works.
