Birthday Surprise: Thalaiva Fans Go Crazy As Dhanush Unveils New 'Kaala' Poster On Rajnikanth's D-Day

Superstar Rajnikanth has achieved the unimaginable during his inspiring journey to fame. His life struggle with being a bus conductor to the God of South Indian cinema has kept the Thalaiva rooted even after being named the highest paid Asian actor after Jackie Chan.

Rajnikanth originally named, Shivaji Rao Gaekwad was born to a Maharashtrian couple in 1950. The Bengaluru boy's disinterest in pursuing studies post crossing 12th led him to the theatre and acting. However, working in occasional plays was not enough to fill stomach which prompted him to obtain a conductor’s licence.

While the young Rajni was issuing tickets to bus passengers, his heart yearned to act. His best friend motivated him to join film Institute in Chennai which officially marked the beginning of an acting career. After making his debut with the Tamil film titled ' Apoorva Raagangal' in 1975, there was no turning back for Rajnikanth.

He transformed the face of grey roles in cinema with his outstanding portrayal of negative characters. Today, after almost 4 decades of making his acting debut in cinema, the actor has tasted various genres from Thriller to drama and sci-fi. The amount of buzz his upcoming film '2.0' has created proves the power of his fan base.

On the occasion of Rajnikanth's 67th birthday, his son-in-law and the renowned Tamil actor-producer, Dhanush posted the new poster of the superstar's upcoming film, 'Kaala'. Thalaiva fans were super-delighted with the special treat and had a mid-night party while praising Rajni's swaggy look in the poster. Dhanush's caption also added to the excitement of his fans.

The caption read, "Here you go !! The king of style our Superstar’s “kaalaa” 2nd look."

The first poster of the Pa Ranjith's directorial was released in May and the second poster signifies that the film is nearing its completion. As of September, the film was 70% shot as specified by a source. IANS reported, " The team is shooting at an amazing pace, making it probably the fastest shot film in Ranjith's career. Nearly 70 percent of the film has already been completed."

With the backdrop of Mumbai, 'Kaala' revolves around a slum-lord from Dharavi played by Rajnikanth. South Indian actress Easwari Rao will be seen in the role of Thalaiva's wife whereas Nana Patekar and Huma Qureshi will also play pivotal roles in the film. Kaala Karikaalan is expected to hit the theatres in 2018.
