'Bareilly Ki Barfi' Movie Review: Sweet, Realistic Rom-Com Holds Power To Captivate Viewers

Expecting a clinche love triangle set in the midst of riches? Viewers are undoubtedly in for a surprise. 'Bareilly ki Barfi' is nothing like the typical love story with extravagent sets. This amusing film is a perfect mix of realism and masala.

Whether it's the lively attitude of leading lady, Kriti Sanon doing much justice to her character or Ayushmann's skillful character evolution from white to grey or Rajkumar Rao's pleasing acting skills, the beautiful film deserves being watched. The movie calls for the viewers' attention.

Like any other middle-class household, Mishra Family also has an interesting mother (Seema Pahwa) who wants her daughter to get hitched and a loving father (Pankaj Tripathi) who adores his daughter to the core. Then there's Bitti Mishra (Kriti Sanon), the bold and spunky girl of Bareilly, willing to get out of the small town.

While running away from the orthodox society in search of an identity, Bitty comes across a novel called 'Bareily Ki Barfi'. Much to her surprise, novel's protagonist has much in common with her than one can imagine. Her curiosity sends her searching for the book's author, leading her to Chirag Dubey, a printing press owner.

Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari didn't fail the viewers with 'Bareilly ki Barfi' after his much-accomplished debut venture, 'Nil Battey Sannata'. Nitesh Tiwari and Shreyas Jain's story has the power to involve the commoner in their much familiar depiction of life.

'Bareilly ki Barfi' is your everyday story set in a small town of North India. The film highlights the little moments of daily life that people miss with some peppy numbers and an interesting story line.
